Problem with Latex Syntax-Highlighting in Kate and Kile

Hello,

after the recent update to Kubuntu 18.04 my Latex syntax-highlighting in
kate (and kile) is broken. Things like \section{}, \begin{} and \end{}
don't get colored,
but \item \texttt{} or \footnote{} are.

More precisely, if I write \begin it starts to get colored, but with
typing the brackets {} the coloring is turning off.

Any idea what could cause this behavior?
