the reason why there are no python plugins in Kate5 is mostly because there
are no final KF5 python bindings. So a port is not possible at the moment.
Shaheed is working on that, but as far as I know it is not yet fully ready.

I've missed Python plugins as well, but nowadays Pate is not a part of Kate
I'm trying to find a spare time to start porting it and there are so many
things to do yet :(
