[Kwintv] blank screen with kdetv 0.8.8

 Hi everyone.

I 've got a problem with kdetv and (I suppose) ATI driver. when I start kdetv 
screen becomes black, I can't do anything and I just can switch to console 
and kill kdetv process. Reading console log I found a strange line:

seteuid(root): Operation not permitted

So, I tried with root user and , as I supposed, all works perfectly. Then, I'd 
like to understand what needs root permission. Devices seem ok:

(my user belongs to video group).

My setup is:
Kubuntu 5.10
X Window System Version 6.8.2
Kde 3.4.3
driver bttv with kernel 2.6.12

In attach kdetv console logs with normal and root users.
