The mentioned way for gentoo is not quite correct.

If you run on stable keywords, you need to do the following first (since
latest programs is in unstable for about 1 month):
echo "media-tv/kdetv ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords

Then go ahead an emerge it:
emerge kdetv


Next to that I'm not sure if it belongs to the KDETV website ...
