[Kwintv] The old KWinTV hangs with DMA enabled

Hi,

I know that kwintv 0.8.x is not supported anymore, but as I like it (mostly
because you can change the picture settings per channel, the (direct) channel
finetuning with v4l and the overlay works there - with qtvision I get a black
tv screen) I'd like to fix a bug there which appeared since I've upgraded my
hardware. I think it's a kwintv bug, as I cannot reproduce it either with
xawtv or qtvision. The problem is: if DMA access for the HDD is enabled, the
whole system hangs as soon as some disc operation begins (like you want to
start and application). Putting the tuner card in another slot and playing
with bios settings (irq, enable/disable onboard devices) does not help, only
if I disable DMA.
Do you have any idea what can happen, in which part of the sources I should
look?

Of course, as soon as the missing parts are implemented/fixed (I saw that
some are already mentioned in the TODO), I will be a happy QtVision user.

Andras

PS: My system is:
Epox 8KRA2+, KT600 bases motherboard
Miro PCTV tuner
Geforce2 MX 400 video card (tried both with the XFree86 and Nvidia drivers)
SuSE 9.0, Kernel 2.4.21

With my previous system (Aopen KT266 motherboard, SuSE 8.2 w/2.4.20), I had no
such problems.
