I don't think so, since v4l shows all devices. We have no influence on which 
video devices are recognized by the X server (== the XVIDEO plugin). I'd 
guess that your X server is "too old" and does not work well with the kernel 
2.6 video API. We cannot help you there, sorry. You can try updating your X 
server, maybe this will do the trick.
