Fixed a crash; Debian package might be affected?

Hi,

I fixed a reported crash and I have the question that: would it help
package maintainers if I created a bugfix-release based on the last
release, adding only the fix for the crash? Something like version 0.50.1 ?

On this crash report:

I got this remark:
