  This should be something good enough to implement, so please signal any  
potential problems.

  Also in 2 comments there are the possible steps for the simulator. I've  
got a feeling that I'm reimplementing the existing one, but reading the  
original code is like being lost in a jungle. IMHO, a rewrite is the  
easier way.
