How do I join the chat channel?

Hello again,

On the "get involved" page <https://kstars.kde.org/get-involved/> I click this
link <https://webchat.kde.org/#/room/%23kstars:kde.org> which shows a
"continue" button and a "new? create account link".
- When I select the account creation link, the page just reloads.
- When I click "continue" I land on "webchat.kde.org" login page with no
hint as to what account I should use.

Since https://community.kde.org/Infrastructure/IRC mentions libera chat, I
also tried joining a few channels on https://web.libera.chat/, but they are
all empty, apart from maybe the ChanServ bot. I tried #kde-kstars, #kstars
and #kstars:kde.org.

I guess I'm missing something that is obvious to the project members, but
I'm feeling like a real noob here, despite participating in FOSS for 25+
years :-D
