I started working on Gaia but haven’t had the time to get back to it. The
MR is available on the repository as a draft and anyone who wants it is
welcome to contribute to the effort. There is a lot of subtlety involved as
a merged database of stars complete to 18th magnitude or so is not
available — Gaia lacks the bright stars and will need to be supplemented by
Tycho 2 and Hipparcos. Cross matching with proper motion propagation and
double star matches is tricky. These subtleties, once understood, and
handled, can be processed into a merged KStars database somewhat easily.
