Can't open kStars 3.7.1 in Mac OSX 14.5

Hi,

I’m a longtime user of kStars.  I just downloaded v3.7.1 and after installing on my M3 iMac, I get the following error message:  "“kstars” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash."  

The only options are to move the application to the trash, or cancel trying to open it.  I tried opening the Security pane in Settings, but it didn’t help.

I was previously using v3.6.9, which worked fine, no problem.

I tried re-downloading the DMG file, rebooting my Mac, etc., all to no avail.

Can you please help?
