KStars slow on startup

Dear all,
I have today run into an issue where KStars takes unusually long to start
up(several minutes).
This happened with the current HEAD as well as a version reverted to 4 days
ago (ee73f81f8d3d69ff6ac0335892462bc4b3baab92)
It also happened on the current release version which I have installed a
week ago. So I guess something must have messed up my user configuration. I
just had a normal imaging session last night with no issues.
I removed my userdb.sqlite but this did not cure the problem.
The sluggish behaviour also occurs when Ekos starts the INDI services.
Everything else seems to work fine but these slow phases are annoying.
One other symptom: the splash screen does not disappear as normal anymore.
Logs are attached. If you have any idea what this could be, I'd appreciate
any hints.
