Hi,

Instead of trying to work directly on the kstars classes, why not
start a new C++ library as part of kdeedu (eg. like libnova)?
That would be much easier, and if it will not depend on Qt, maybe it
will attract more developers, as many projects could find it useful.
(Eigen started as a kde project, right?)
Even if such a library would depend on kdelibs, it could be used by
other kde apps - like plasmoids - if it was a kdeedu library.

Just my 2c...
