since that time you could use the data from
http://mpcreader.sourceforge.net/ and copy the two files into your
kstars directory.
or use https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpcreader/files/mpcreader/V1/

maybe akarsh could update the source tree with the new data once a
week/month or so?
