Hi
How far into the future are precession and nutation calculations used
in KStars accurate?
My friend found a situation with the Date = 4th July 30000 AD,
Location = Madras, India, where Scorpius showed up at the North
Pole. Of course, setting the date this far is possible only with the
older versions of KDE (3.5.8).
If my understanding of precession is right, the earth will never
topple over, which means that Scorpius will never land up at the North
pole, and the North pole will trace only a circle with a radius of a
few degrees on the celestial sphere.
Regards
Akarsh
