Hmm, well I hope so...but I have to say, since the KDE4 port, it's been 
quite a bit *slower* than we're used to.  I still don't know how much of 
this is just non-optimized stuff in the new Qt libs.  Anyway, there is 
definitely room for improvement in our code, so I'm sure we'll 
eventually be at least as fast as we were before, and am reasonably 
confident that we can make it even faster.

Thanks for the link to kd-trees, I haven't heard of them befre but will 
definitely check it out.
