Hello,
I have just read the "Report: KDE at LWE NY, 2004" on dot.kde.org (see
http://dot.kde.org/1075391314/ ) and KStars is mentioned twice along the
text.
First one:
" KDE 3.2 was generating a large amount of interest, with "what's new?" being
the most common question. Hot favorites with the crowd were Kontact,
including Kolab and MS Exchange support, KDevelop, Quanta, and more. Many
people were enchanted by the KStars demonstrations run on the last day,
hopefully boosting the KDE Education Project's visibility. Other things that
people were interested to hear about were KDE's Kiosk mode, solid printing
support, wallet functionality and the new Universal Sidebar."
Second one:
".... meeting with them (adding them as attendees automatically); Jim Gettys
suggested being able to set the location in KStars to any location in the
universe, not just anywhere on Earth; and ....."
This second wish could be modestly achieved (not completely achieved because I
think it is unreallistic) by using OpenGL. I am delighted that Jason has
started this development. I hope to help as much as my time and my knowledge
allows me.
regards
Pablo.
