But when you use the full screen mode the kicker panel is hidden by KStars 
windows. That is what I have experienced after Heiko's change. The whole 
screen is occupied by KStars. ... The problem is the upper toolbar and the 
status bar, but you say this may be changed using setPalette because they 
belong to KStars.

That is a very good idea. I am sure that people that use laptops at night 
outdoors will love that, because they can use the whole KDE and not only 
KStars.
