That's a great tip - thanks! ~/.config/kst exists. Worried about kst vs kst2, I made a sym link to .config/kst2. I ran kst, changed some "defaults" and saved, but diffing the .conf files showed no change. I'll look deeper later, maybe doing an strace to see when/where kst writes to a config file.

Hi Stephen,

Kst uses QSettings to store the settings, which according to https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qsettings.html#platform-specific-notes<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdoc.qt.io%2Fqt-5%2Fqsettings.html%23platform-specific-notes&data=04%7C01%7Cstephen.f.maher%40nasa.gov%7Cefd5f38c5c6145c8178708d93c94981f%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637607431173507486%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=jQ3NzgP2GsPhOE5Bk10jsH8I%2BHFqlr%2F3PGDgwMlGVjQ%3D&reserved=0> should land in $HOME/.config/kst2 or something similar. I'm not certain about the path (kst2 or something else) but with a quick grep or checking QCoreApplication::setOrganizationName in kst's sources it should be easy to find.

Hi,

Version (2.0.8-5~3369~44~ubuntu18.04.1)

I haven't used defaults on KST but I just tried removing a plot legend and checked "Save as default" and it didn't work. I'm trying to auto-generate a lot of images with no legends and this would save a lot of work.

I was looking into ~/.kstrc but fell short. I saw references to KST using KConfig gut not sure if that's valid. I've grep'd through /usr/share/doc/kst-doc.

Any tips appreciated...

Steve
