Whoops... false alarm.

 

For some reason I had a ui_ file in by source directory (!)

Yes, I also had that a couple of times. It's better to do a fresh /
clean checkout before switching to cmake and out-of-tree builds, because
the files generated in the source tree by the qmake build process can
interfere...
