I forgot a point: while we're at optimizing all of that, maybe we should
change slightly the GUI for the decimal separator. The way it is right
now, I think Barth (English locale) will have a hard time reading my
sample file with "," as decimal separator... 
Ignoring regional settings to use a "." only helps people with locale
where the separator is a ",".

We could do it like speedcrunch (drop-down with "," "." and "system"),
or do 3 radiobuttons:
O System (.)	O Dot (.)	O Comma (,)
Where the first label would be created querying the currently active
locale in the dialog constructor. In Germany it would then be "System
(,)"
