Hi Tim,
- regarding the moderator: I don't know how the system works,
i.e. if new posts are automatically notified to a given email address
for example. The best thing would be to direct it to the kst mailing
list, if that's accepted. That's where we have the most chances of
getting a fast answer, as individuals can sometimes be offline for
longer periods of time. If a list is not acceptable, I can try to
moderate the forum. Maybe Barth would also be willing? We'll have to see
over time how much work and e-mail it generates...
- for the description: I suggest you use the website
http://kst-plot.kde.org and try to summarize the key ideas of the main
page so that it fits nice into the forum.
I also have questions myself:
1) Can/should we use sub-forums within KDE (e.g.
News/Installation/Data Import/Plot Export/Problems/Tips&Tricks)? If so,
do others on this list have better ideas?
2) Should we put Kst under the "Office/Productivity" category,
other "Other KDE software" ? (Personally I prefer the first, unless we
can convince people to open a KDE Science subforum => I'll send a mail
to Stuart Javis for that, as he's been trying to set up something for
KDE Science applications). I guess given the time frame you'll have to
use an existing category, but hopefully we can migrate it to KDE Science
if it ever exists
3) Could you prepare a mail with a quick-start guide to using and
moderating this forum, based on what you may see from other applications
(I think krita should be a good example, they're really taking off
lately) and the forum documentation that should be available...
somewhere?
Thanks for taking on this task,
Nicolas

Hi!
I'm trying to set up a Kst subforum within in the KDE community forums
as part of this Google Code-In task:
<http://www.google-melange.com/gci/task/view/google/gci2011/7121220>. In
order to do this, someone familiar with KDE needs to volunteer to be a
moderator for the forum, and I need a description for the forum as well.
Is anyone subscribed to this list willing to be a mod, and can we come
up with a good description for Kst?
Cheers,
Tim
