Anirudh,

find my answers below intertwined in your text.

I have checked the patch, it looks OK and applies cleanly. So
principally OK, now look how much you can still do content-wise.

Betreff: Re: [Kst] Refresh kst documentation for kst2.x

I have removed dcop file from index, because reading from online
documentation it is written -" Kst 1 has some features that Kst 2 does
not yet have, in particular dcop bindings "
OK.

I also tried to make a small simpledata.dat file and tried opening it,
but it said, the file cannot be opened,

ERROR : File is malformed and encountered an error while reading.

Maybe it is a Kst 1 file which could not be read by Kst 2.

That is because you have to use the data wizard (see under Tools) to
read in data files. The File->Open menu is for kst session files.

So I am removing this part.

NO! Don't remove this, reading in data from ASCII files ist he most
basic task which has to be well described! I'd suggest you check the
video I mentioned on the Code-In page, if I remember it right it shows
this workflow.

I have added a screenshot, to show basic kst view.

OK. Please use the screenshots from the webpage. There are style
consistency guidelines to respect and I had taken quite some time to do
a lot of them (basically, all of them). Only if they are out of date
(which is the case with the ASCII config dialog) then you may have to do
one, using the default oxygen KDE style if you can.

I haven't made any changes to tutorial.docbook

Why? Is it still applicable, or haven't you had time?

Removed common task part. I would have liked to add information for
the workflow, but it would require a lot of time. So leaving it out
presently.

Hum, I think this part (i fit ist he "quick start" I think) is actually
one of the most important ones. But I recognize that it can take some
time and may require some more in-depth understanding of kst to do it
properly. Maybe good for a separate Code-In task?

I also observed that following plugins from kst1, were not working

  fits_nonlinear/exponential
  fits_nonlinear/gaussian also removed gaussianequation.png
fits_nonlinear/lorentzian also removed its corresponding png
  kstfit_lorentzian_weighted

I know there are a lot of other plugins that have become obsolete, can
you tell me the source, from where I can check that. I can only pinpoint
these from the documentation. So removed there documentation.

I can't tell you out of my head which plugins have disappeared. Just
look at the 3 plugin submenus (down in the Create menu) and cross-check.

Also there is no formats supported entry in index, do u want me to
create one.

Yes, I think you can copy/paste it easily from the website and there
have been some changes in that area.

I am generating svn diff for the whole folder now and uploading(just to
be safe), but I will keep adding changes till the deadline
OK.
