Great!

We are using Kst very often as a plotting component in our robot control
applications, so one of our most wanted features is to be able to use Kst
as a "slave", that can be started, configured, used and stopped via a
"socket" connection. Ideally, via different kinds of "middlewares" and not
just bare sockets. That means that some scripts must be callable in Kst
from the master.
(We use Blender/Morse in a similar way, and there such multi-middleware
support is already available via Python scripting; you might take a look
there for inspiration:
  <http://www.openrobots.org/morse/doc/stable/_modules/morse/blender/main.html>
  <http://www.openrobots.org/morse/doc/stable/dev/new_middleware.html>

Another use case for scripting would be the production of 'standard
reports', from the data currently available in Kst, and using some
selectable templates.

Good luck with your task!
