create several plots, for instance 9 plots so that you get a 3x3 layout.
remove some plots using right click / delete, for instance 3 plots

right click / cleanup layout / automatic has no effect. It seems that it is not
able to change the number of rows/columns

Expected Results:  
I would expect the number of rows / columns to be changed. However I recognized
that a smart algo to do it is not easy!

perhaps simply remove the option
