I like these ideas.

Comment on (1): should the page it opens to be dependent on how it was opened? 
eg, double-clicking on a label opens it to the label page, double-clicking on
the X or Y axis opens to the X or Y axis page.  Double clicking in the plot
opens to the contents page.

2) does the curve dialog get embedded, or is it a separate dialog?
