[Kst] Updating kde-apps

Sorry, I can't help you with that. 

But that reminds me of one thing: we need to update the web site. Even
if we don't go for a drupal- or joomla-powered site (which would still
be my favourite option), we have to make it sexier and more current at
the very least.
To me, one of the best example projects as far as making the best use of
the current KDE infrastructure is krita (see
http://www.valdyas.org/fading/index.cgi/software/krita/website_yay.html)
: 
- nice website (though admittedly, kst could live with something
simpler) with attractive galleries
- forum subsection on the kde forums
- userbase wiki for user info (could be a nice way to keep the user
manual up-to-date, which is one of the most frequent requests I get from
novice users)
- techbase wiki entry for developer info

I really think kst is underexposed, and that is certainly bad for the
longer term. Plus, it takes time to build mindshare, so we have to start
early enough. Some facts to ponder:
- qtiplot downloads on kde-apps.org: 49310
- labplot downloads on kde-apps.org: 25974
- kst downloads on kde-apps.org: 4579

The next question would of course be the longer term, and what to do
about SciDavis especially, which is apparently the result of a labplot /
qtiplot fork merge...

Yes, I know that may be a bit of distraction from development, but it's
also needed. And can be done by other people than C++ coders. With
recordmydesktop and ksnapshot/lightscreen, everyboy can contribute nice
screenshots or screencasts easily.
