me a lot of trouble with most fit/filter plugins. If the solution is
known and easy to apply I'd suggest handling the stuff depending on gsl
in just the same way.
Then yes, switch to cmake. I have no clue how long it can take, but I
hope it does take too long. Writing new features and fixing bugs is
somehow more important for the end-user :-)
