I have not looked into NAD for a while...  I know that NetCDF has an optional 
DAP protocol that uses libcurl.  For my own part, I am investigating writing a 
filesystem driver for HDF5 that uses libcurl.

So I guess the answer to your question is:  I don't- yet.  :-)
