Summary: Crash from Data->New plugin menu
           Product: kst
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Solaris
            Status: NEW
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kst kde org
        ReportedBy: nicolas.brisset eurocopter com

Version: 1.4.0_devel (using KDE 3.4.0, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3
OS: SunOS (sun4u) release 5.8

I suppose this is related to the recent changes in plugins, but there is a difference between creating a plugin from the Data->New plugin menu and from the data manager.
To reproduce:
- load column 1 vs INDEX from gyrodata.dat
- Data->New plugin menu
- select "Fixed step differentiation": crash with following output:

> ASSERT: "ptr" in kstbasicdialog_i.cpp (73)

I have not tested other plugins, but I fear this is not an isolated case.
It works well when using the data manager.
