   The patch you have there introduces major performance  
regressions.  This is not acceptable.  You could back the patch out,  
write a patch that does not have such problems, and then check that  
in.  If you're not sure how to do this, someone else could take on  
that work.  If there is no way to do this dialog without major  
performance problems then we can either leave it as it was, change  
the dialog design altogether, or remove the dialog.
