[Kst] 1.4 and trunk

To keep everyone informed with what is going on, trunk is now -hard- - 
frozen-.  1.4.0 is being cut from trunk and once it is released,  
trunk will open for 1.4.1.  1.5.0 will be working from the work/1.5  
branch.  1.4.0 is tagged.  I will send out more info once 1.4.0  
packages have been made.  For now, new work can continue in the 1.5  
branch and anything that needs to be backported should be backported  
after 1.4.0 is done.
