  This stuff really should be going into KstSettings. The ones in 
KstGraphFileDialog and KstCurveDifferentiate also should be there.  
KstSettings was created to keep all the settings synchronized and make them 
accessible from all parts of the application.  We should probably make some 
structs or classes to group the settings though.
