Would it be complicated to implement ? Sure, it is only cute, but for such an often-used setting, avoiding the hassle of bringing up a dialog (probably covering the plot for which you cant to change settings, making it difficult to read the right values to type in) each time is really appealing. As I said, I've actually seen that elsewhere and it feels very good.
[Just pleading in case there's a chance to save at least that one :-)]
