It's clear that the plot label code isn't going to be fixed until the brokenness
is brutally obvious, so here it goes.  This replaces tick labels with the new
label rendering code.  The font sizing is probably quite broken, and the
plot dialog interface for labels is probably nonfunctional.  However, this 
should be more clean in the long run, is more efficient now I think, and can
definitely be made much more efficient yet.

Next stop: x, y, top labels.
