It's not so bad, I'm running kubuntu with:

gcc (GCC) 4.0.2 20050808 (prerelease) (Ubuntu 4.0.1-4ubuntu9)
libqt3-mt-dev  3.3.4-8ubuntu5
kdelibs        3.5.0-0ubuntu0breezy1

and have no library related problems.  I would *definitely* not recommend 
using Qt 3.3.5 with anything though ;-)
