I have also tested this and it seems to me that there is a small problem
with starting values in the series. When curve width, or color, or point
style, etc should be varied, I think the first values to be used should
be the most common ones (like line width 0, no point symbol, etc), and
the less usual ones should be used only when required. On top of that,
it seems legends are not synced appropriately (esp. width is far too
large).
Another potential problem is that it is not possible to choose between
window-wise and plot-wise cycling.
All in all, I think this is a great feature, but it seems to me that
there should be a way to centralize this in kst settings and make it
common with the "Differentiate between curves" code, (which still has a
couple of bugs).
I'd suggest something like:
- in kst settings: store defaults for the creation of new curves/plots
- in kst settings: have the choice between a few profiles: color, color
on screen and B&W printing, B&W everywhere, with a possibility to choose
the right cycling options for each separately (we could possibly use a
grey levels palette automatically for B&W when cycling colors is
selected, it would help keep things reasonably simple)
- the current tool in the "Tools" menu, for manual overriding when
required
- a way to remember printer-kst print settings correspondence (imagine
you have a fast B&W printer on the network and a slow color printer, you
will use one or the other and don't want to have to click 10 places to
change settings every time you change printers): that would be _REALLY_
cool.

I am aware that this is all probably a bit too much for 1.2.0. I can
also file this into bugzilla for further discussion or reference if you
find it appropriate.
