This is what I found on some KDE documentation:

<author>
Required element in the header section of all KDE documentation. Use this
element only for the author(s) of the document. Other contributers
(developers, translators, and so on) should be credited in the <othercredit>
section. No attributes.

Are you sure it isn't supposed to be the author list of the docs?

If it is the app, then the about box and this should agree...
