[Kst] Freeze on exit

I've noticed a regular freeze on exit lately.  It seems to only happen when 
running in realtime mode.  Basically Kst freezes in kst.cpp doing 
_updateThread->wait().  I had to remove the old code around it because it was 
crashing with NPTL on RedHat 9.  I guess it was saving us from stalls on all 
other platforms though.  The updatethread is stuck in nanosleep when this 
happens.  Anyone else seeing this?
