Looks like a good idea.  I checked this into CVS as well.  The only 
reservation I have is that I would like to delay implementation of this until 
we have a "stable" codebase in HEAD.  The list of items to fix is small, but 
we really need to get them out of the way before we start new features again.  
Hopefully most of them will be finished this week.
