Okay, 
	I now have the old package, it starts up and now i have changed the auth 
query in proftpd.conf.template as follows:
#LDAPDoAuth            on "@@@base_dn@@@" "(uid=freebusy)"
LDAPDoAuth            on "@@@base_dn@@@" "(uid=%v)"

This allows my users to log in as themselves and kolab says that the user has 
logged in.  But it seem the .vfb file cannot be found.  Are there any clues 
here? I am so close to making this work, are file ids possibly wrong? 

This seems like the last part before I have  a patch for working freebusy 
lists on win2k :)
