LDAPExplorer requires php-4.0 and cannot handle php-4.3 as supplied
with kolab.
I use phpLDAPadmin from http://phpldapadmin.sorceforge.net
formerly known as davedap. phpLDAPadmin is able to establish TLS
connections when used with php-4.2 +.
