Hi,

I would recommend to add control functions to the access rules in slapd.conf
 for example:

access to attr=userPassword
        by group="cn=admin,dc=marin,dc=l4b,dc=de" write continue
        by group="cn=maintainer,dc=marin,dc=l4b,dc=de" write continue
        by self write continue
        by anonymous auth continue
        by * none
        stop

otherwise slapd would stop at the first rule and restart parsing if
this rule is not applicable.
