[Kroupware] Installing for production use

I'm just wondering: for production use, it would be best to allow the
different distributions installing their own vendor patches and upgrades for
the packages used in Kolab. 
It seems to me like kolab distributes it's own set of RPM's, will theese
RPM's be maintained? Or are the RPM's only ment for
getting a quick test setup of kolab?
