Hi,

I created a first version of SuSE 8.2 KDE Kolab Client rpms.

They are available from:

http://www.erfrakon.de/projects/kolab/download/kde-kolab-client-1.0.0/testing/bin/SuSE-8.2/

If you are installing the packages on top of an existing installation,
you must uninstall all kdenetwork and kdepim rpms before installing the
new kdenetwork and kdepim rpm packages.

If you want to recompile the src.rpms you must install the kdelibs-devel,
pilot-link-devel and openldap2-client-devel rpm packages firstly.

BEWARE:
You MUST make sure that _EVERY_ user has disabled online imap settings before
attempting to use the KDE Kolab client. Your users will loose their email
otherwise!

You may then use disconnected IMAP instead of online imap to access the IMAP
ressource
instead.

I highly recommend to test the newly installed on a fresh user account before
using it on
your regular account.

There are currently known issues with reusing existing kmailrc configurations
so starting from an empty kmailrc is safer. Provided that you understand
kmailrc syntax you may then gradually add the original entries to kmailrc
manually.

Current issues with the provided rpms:

	- potential data loss if online imap is enabled when starting kolab enabled
kmail for the first time! --> disable online imap before starting the
	  client

	- the contacts/address book does currently not work with the provided rpms

        - kpilot integration is not fully enabled in these rpms

Please report how well these rpms work for you.

Yours,
--martin
