[Kroupware] nothing can talk to ldap?

I think I've narrowed my problem down to the fact that nothing can
actually talk to the ldap server. When I try to access the
/administrator page, I get this error on the page:

  Internal Error: could not get Authentication Information
  Communication Error: could not query ldap://127.0.0.1:389 

I'm sure it's some small missing configuration info or something. Can 
someone point me in a new direction to troubleshoot this?
