Sorry, this is not possible.

The groupware components are started from within KMail and a running
KMail is needed e.g. for the addressbook to retrieve its data.

All groupware data are now stored in KMail's new groupware IMAP folders
so without using the kroupware_branch branch of kdenetwork as well you
will not succeed.

But there are HOWTOs somewhere telling you how to install another KDE
without removing your old KDE - you might want to look for them...
