Yes, this page is misleading, but all the links there to vCalendar specs
etc. are actually referring to the old vCalendar format. The RFCs for
iCalendar are refered to as iCalendar and iCalendar is explicitly not
called vCalendar 2 or something like that:

This memo is based on the earlier work of the vCalendar specification
for the exchange of personal calendaring and scheduling information.
In order to avoid confusion with this referenced work, this memo is
to be known as the iCalendar specification.
