Download version problem

Hi,

I am using Mandrake 9.1 with autoconf 2.5, automake 1.6 and gcc 3.2.2.
I followed the instructions as indicated. The config ends with a:

-
- fast creating po/zh_CN/Makefile
- fast creating po/zu/Makefile
- config.status: creating config.h
- config.status: config.h is unchanged
-  
- Good - your configure finished. Start make now
-

Then I proceed with the make and get an error. (Pease see end of the message 
for more info.) My question is, since I am not interested in the french 
translation, is their any way I can bypass this?
