CVS should compile and work correctly. Did you install the program into the 
correct directory?

CVS version needs a 'make install'. There are several new files, especially 
the new insert rules system needs a new xml file.
Try to copy all xml files to <kdedir>/share/apps/kpovmodeler, maybe that 
works.
